VARIOUS ARTISTS - Jazz Loves Disney

Verve Records

Big Band under the direction of Rob Mounsey and producer Jay Newland

The soundtrack of Disney films have always made a very important contribution to the overall cinematic experience. On this recording Verve have got together a great swinging big band and invited some of the best jazz orientated singers to give their personal interpretations from these immortal scores. The album is a joy from start to finish, should give unadulterated pleasure to most, and will give the very youngest listeners a solid introduction to a quality of performance rarely heard in today's pop world.

Among the highlights are the smokey voiced Melody Gardot's take on "He's A Tramp", the unmistakable sound at slow tempo from Gregory Porter from "Pinocchio" and China Moses clipped but swinging delivery on "Why Don't You Do Right.
