MAYNARD FERGUSON - Live and Well in London

Sleepy Night Records SNRCD019

I worry about a record company, Sleepy Night Records,  that issues material that is badly proofread.  If they can’t get Dave Lynane,  Frank Rocotti  and Brain Smith right, the insert booklet has other errors, what else have they missed?

That is just the start.

The tracks are not the same as the CD issued by Columbia that has the same title and the same cover.. This one has an additional CD of a gig which they think was recorded at the 100 Club!

I am not sure about the integrity of using a cover from a previous CD from another company.  If anyone wants to own ‘Maynard Ferguson  Live and Well in London’ , this is not it.

It all sounds very ramshackle. Mr Ferguson deserves better than this and so do we.

We are told it is a limited edition of 500 CDs worldwide.  Perhaps as well such a shoddy production is limited.
