OLIVIA TRUMMER - Fly Now
It is with some trepidation the one approaches a vocal album where all the songs are composed by the singer and this is one such album. Although born and raised in Stuttgart, Germany, Olivia Trummer divides her time between Berlin and New York City  and has appeared at prestigious places such as Carnegie Hall and the Jazz Standard in New York.
Olivia Trummer  has a pleasant singing voice but there is nothing in her delivery which marks her out as a original new voice on the scene
The opening track “Precious Silence“ is a little repetitive but really doesn‘t. really arrive at any destination. “Snow Colored Streets” is a much better song and consequently the singer produces a much improved vocal. “Fly Now” is quite a dark sounding song but Olivia Trummer produces a vocal that fit’s the mood of the piece. The final number “Don‘t Ask Love” has a very nicely constructed piano intro giving way to a very pleasant vocal to a quite memorable song. Trummer has a pleasant voice and has produced one or two quite good songs but overall it is not an album that is going to set the world on fire and there is a great deal of competition out there so it really needs to something that stands out if you want to make your mark.
